Jordan Distributing 60000 Purchasing Cards to Needy Families

Khaberni - The National Aid Fund has commenced the distribution of prepaid purchasing cards to (60,000) of the poorest families benefiting from the National Aid Fund throughout the kingdom, as part of the Royal initiatives which are implemented annually on the occasion of His Majesty King Abdullah II's birthday and the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

The support for the beneficiary families is provided in the form of pre-paid shopping cards worth (100) dinars each, enabling the targeted families to purchase their basic needs from the Civilian and Military Consumption Institutions, with a total cost amounting to (6) million dinars.

The Fund sent short text messages (SMS) to the head of the beneficiary family, including the mechanism for receiving the card, in order to facilitate the procedures and ensure the support reaches those who deserve it with ease.

The Fund confirmed that in cooperation with the Civilian and Military Consumption Institutions, all necessary measures have been taken to facilitate the families' benefit from the card, and to ensure its use by the beneficiary himself or a first-degree family member, ensuring that the support reaches its rightful recipients.

The beneficiary families of the Royal initiative, launched in 2004, are selected based on defined criteria and standards that ensure fairness and transparency, relying on a computerized system and the approved database at the Fund.
