Laporta Stabs Perez in the Back and Real Madrid Responds

Khaberni -  Media reports on Saturday stated that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is extremely angry after FC Barcelona, led by Joan Laporta, officially announced their withdrawal from the Super League project.

The Touchline account on X said: "Florentino Perez is extremely angry with Barcelona after the club officially distanced itself from the Super League project, a move he considers a betrayal by president Joan Laporta."

It added: "Perez feels betrayed and believes that this shift has led to tensions between the two institutions."

It continued: "In this context, Real Madrid is ramping up pressure on Barcelona regarding the ongoing Negreira case."

Concluding, it stated minutes ago Álvaro Arbeloa said: "The Negreira case is the biggest scandal in the history of Spanish football, no one understands how no actions have been taken yet?"

Barcelona officially announced their withdrawal from the Super League project on Saturday, leaving Real Madrid as the sole remaining defender of a championship that briefly threatened to rival the Champions League.

The club stated in a press release: "FC Barcelona has officially informed the European Super League company and the concerned clubs of its withdrawal from the Super League project."

In January (January) last year, Joan Laporta hinted at the club's readiness to move forward, urging clubs interested in joining the Super League to return to the European Football Association.
The project was introduced in 2021 with the aim of restructuring European professional club football to serve the interests of the largest and richest clubs, but the idea of a championship limited to elite clubs alone faced widespread public protests, intense governmental opposition, and strong hostility from the regulatory bodies of the game, leading to its actual collapse within days of its announcement.

This move puts Barcelona in line with the current system of UEFA competitions.
