Khaberni - Former US Vice President Kamala Harris reactivated a social media account for her presidential campaign on Thursday, sparking speculation about her possibly re-entering the race for the White House.
The Democratic candidate who lost the 2024 presidential election said in a video on her X platform account, which she renamed from "Kamala Hdquarters" to "Hdquarters_67", a nod to the digits 6 and 7 popular among Generation Z, "I'm really excited about this".
On TikTok, the account is known simply as "Hdquarters".
The account had been inactive since November 5, 2024, when Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election was announced.
Harris added that the renewed account will provide information for American youth and spotlight "some of our great brave leaders", including elected officials and figures from civil society.
Harris, aged 61, concluded her statement by saying, "Stay in touch, and I'll see you there".
Several polls showed Harris leading the list of potential candidates for the 2028 Democratic Party nomination, ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom and others.
Trump's camp immediately launched an attack on Harris following her return to social media.
The White House spokesperson, Abigail Jackson, mocked Harris in a post on the X platform saying, "Showcasing Kamala more is really what the Democrats need".
On the same platform, the "Trump War Room" account wrote after Harris' account vaguely hinted at her imminent return to the political arena, "You guys, do you want more pain?".
Harris has been touring the United States for months promoting her book "107 Days", referring to the brief duration of her 2024 presidential campaign after Joe Biden withdrew on July 21.
In this book, the first woman to hold the office of vice president in the country settles her accounts with her former boss Biden and his team.
Harris recently announced that her book tour will continue in 2026, which many commentators interpreted as a precursor to a new attempt to run for president.
