Khaberni - President Donald Trump on Thursday called for the negotiation of a "new, improved, and updated treaty" with Russia, following the expiration of the "New START", the last nuclear arms reduction treaty between the two countries.
Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social, "Instead of extending the New START treaty, we should ask our nuclear experts to work on a new, improved and updated treaty that can last into the future".
The effects of the "New START" treaty ended on Thursday, marking a major turning point in the history of arms reduction since the Cold War, and raising fears of nuclear proliferation.
