Khaberni - A keynote session at the World Government Summit 2026 featured Noland Arbo, the first person in the world to implant an electronic chip in his brain, discussing his experience, how it improved his life for the better, and revealing some aspects of the future of the medical sector in the age of artificial intelligence during a session titled "What will the human look like in the next fifty years?" It highlighted the most important discoveries and products presented by major global companies in this field.
Also participating in the session, alongside the first human trial participant of Neuralink, Noland Arbo, were NIKE's Deputy President Serfjan Ozgan, CEO of OURA Tom Hill, interviewed by AXIOS CEO Jim Vandahi.
Initially, Noland Arbo talked about his personal experience in implanting a digital chip in his brain, below the skull, and how it greatly improved his life, enabling him to do things that were merely a dream for him, even before the injury that incapacitated him. He anticipated that the field of electronic chips implantation would be very advanced in 10 years, possibly allowing paralyzed individuals to stand up one day after the chip implantation.
Arbo emphasized the importance of the human aspect in this process, stating it as most crucial, aiming at developing capabilities of people with disabilities to enable them to lead their lives and maintain their independence.
He added that technological tests and financial incentives are not the most important; the human comes first and foremost. He pointed out some ethical dilemmas that might face this technology's industry, affirming that they would be discussed sequentially.
On his part, Serfjan Ozgan presented inspiring models of developments at "Nike," discussing a shoe equipped with "sensors" that help the wearer make decisions faster, as they stimulate the brain by an additional 15% compared to normal, in addition to sensing the type of surface they are walking on.
Ozgan explained that at "Nike," they are working on presenting advanced products to improve human movement, revealing an air jacket that adjusts body temperature based on the amount of air inside it, a new product that will be launched in the next few days.
In turn, Tom Hill said his company offers unprecedented products, having introduced innovations that provide users with something akin to a sixth sense, along with innovations that supply them with remote biometric indicators, such as the smart ring that performs the tasks of digital identity and financial payments, confirming that the shortage of doctors will make people their own doctors in the future, based on the massive data provided in the sector.
