Social Media Mocks Leila Abdel Latifs Prediction about Saif alIslam Gaddafi

Khaberni - Lebanese fortune teller Leila Abdel Latif faced a wave of ridicule and criticism after the announcement of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi's death, following her repeated predictions about his ascendancy to rule in Libya.

Activists recirculated an old video clip of Abdel Latif from last year's "Al-Qarar" program with media personality Nadia Al-Zou'bi on "Al-Ghad" channel, where she reiterated her insistence on her prophecy saying, "I say he has a major role in the heart of Libya.. and I won't change my prediction, one day he'll rule Libya."

This was not the first time that the Lebanese clairvoyant insisted on this forecast, as her public predictions about Saif al-Islam date back to 2012, when she appeared on MBC channel and revealed her expectation of his release from prison and his announcement to run for the country's leadership, which partially came true later.

In the widely circulated clip, which dates back to older recordings, Abdel Latif confidently says, "Today, tomorrow, after a month, or after a year... Saif al-Islam Gaddafi will rule Libya and lead it to safety."

The death of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, as announced by the Libyan Public Prosecutor's office on Tuesday, has blasted these predictions, turning them into material for mockery among thousands of users who commented on the discrepancy between her continuous confirmations and the current reality.

Many activists described the incident as a "new blow for fortune tellers" and a "complete failure of predictions," while other comments merely expressed astonishment at her continued adherence to this view despite the changing facts on the ground.

It is noted that Leila Abdel Latif enjoys popularity among followers of astrology and horoscope programs in the Arab world, and is known for her boldness in presenting political forecasts, some of which resonate, while others, like in the current Libyan case, end in failure.
