Deschamps Mbappé doesnt run much for the team

Khaberni - Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, confirmed on Tuesday at the sports press festival in Laval, that team captain Kylian Mbappé is not "selfish," and he is not expected to run "at least 11 kilometers in every match" for the team.

During his opening lecture about his relationship with the media, titled "A coach should not say this," Deschamps responded to a journalist who pointed out that the Real Madrid striker is the only one in the team who does not run.

Deschamps jokingly said: This actually applies to the goalkeeper, that is your analysis. I do not think so, even if some players run less distance than others.

The 57-year-old coach continued: If you want him to run at least 11 kilometers in every match, there is no need for that; he will not do it.

Guy Stéphan, Deschamps’ assistant who was also present on stage in Laval, added: Mbappé does a lot of high-intensity running.

He concluded: You may like Kylian's personality or you may not, but young players adore him. You might have a stereotype of him as selfish and aloof, and of course a striker must also be selfish, but I assure you that within the French national team, he acts as a leader.
