The occupation prevents the travel of patients through the Rafah crossing and cancels the departure of the third batch

Khaberni - The Israeli occupation authorities, on Wednesday, prevented the travel of patients and wounded through the Rafah land crossing south of the Gaza Strip, after notifying the World Health Organization office about the cancellation of the coordination for the departure of the third batch that was scheduled to leave for treatment.

The spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent, Raed Al-Namms, stated that the World Health Organization office informed them about the cancellation of the patients and wounded travel, despite completing all procedures and preparing them at the Red Crescent Hospital in Khan Younis, which was a surprise to the concerned authorities and patients.

He added that since the crossing was reopened on Monday, only 50 patients and injured had left, including their companions; with 7 patients departing with their companions on the first day, and another 16 with their companions on the second day, within 48 hours.

Al-Namms indicated that this cancellation comes as part of the stalling and obstacles imposed by the occupation on the travel of patients, despite the urgent need for treatment outside the sector, pointing out that about 18,500 patients and wounded need to receive treatment abroad.
