WHO Needs One Billion Dollars to Combat Global Health Crises in 2026

Khaberni - The World Health Organization announced on Tuesday its need for one billion dollars to deal with health crises in 36 regions around the world experiencing severe health emergencies, including Gaza, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Haiti.

The organization's Executive Director for Health Emergencies, Chikwe Ihekweazu, told journalists in Geneva, "A quarter of a billion people are living through humanitarian crises that deprive them of basic protections: safety, shelter, and access to healthcare," warning that under such conditions, "health needs increase while access to care diminishes."
