Gaza Civil Defense announces complete halt of its vehicles due to fuel depletion

Khaberni - The Civil Defense Authority in the Gaza Strip announced on Tuesday that its vehicles have completely stopped working due to the lack of the minimum amount of fuel necessary to perform humanitarian interventions, warning of serious repercussions that threaten the lives of thousands of citizens amidst ongoing aggression and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
The authority explained in a statement that the fuel shortage has led to the suspension of tasks such as retrieving bodies from targeted areas, due to the immobilization of ambulances and rescue vehicles, leaving victims under the rubble for long periods without the ability to reach them.
It added that the field teams are no longer able to continue with tasks such as hazard removal, road clearing, and securing damaged areas, due to the lack of fuel necessary to operate the machinery and heavy equipment used in these vital works, noting that its crews are also unable to respond to distress calls during weather lows and emergencies, which increases the risks on the population, especially in the face of infrastructure destruction and the increasing number of displaced people in exposed areas.
It called on international institutions and humanitarian organizations to supply humanitarian teams with the necessary fuel to operate vehicles and equipment to provide the required humanitarian service.
