The topic of national intellectual security is of concern to many countries around the world, as it is considered one of the most important issues that must be protected, preserved, and enhanced. Interest in the concept of intellectual security as a whole began at the beginning of the third millennium due to the major transformations witnessed by the world such as political, economic, social, and cultural challenges that have directly affected various aspects of life.
With the widespread use of the Internet, access to the Internet has become available to all individuals across different age stages. As a result, there are people who want to stir strife and discord among the members of society by exploiting this tremendous spread of social networking sites. Here, the role of the family emerges in protecting the national intellectual security of its children by educating them intellectually, enhancing their levels of national intellectual security, and making them aware that there are those who try to undermine their intellectual security. Enhancing these levels contributes significantly in repelling the impurities and intellectual poisons that are transmitted through social media, whose primary objective is to destabilize the intellectual security of the youth.
Therefore, it is imperative to confront these intellectual impurities by all means and methods through the first line of defense (the family), and by providing the necessary support to families through lectures, workshops, forums, and TV programs that enhance their skills in countering intellectual impurities and refuting the rumors and slanders that are broadcast through social media, which primarily aim to disrupt the tranquility of daily life for individuals and families. Protecting the intellectual security of individuals and the community contributes to enhancing family and social cohesion, strengthens national unity, preserves religious and ethical values, and safeguards the cultural heritage of the nation.
