Left Barcelona for the World Cup Injury threatens Ter Stegens dream

Khaberni - Media reports revealed that Spanish goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has suffered a thigh muscle injury, which could end his hopes of playing for Germany in the World Cup next summer, in the worst case.

The Spanish reports mentioned that Ter Stegen was injured during the Girona match, which his team lost 1-0 against Real Oviedo on Saturday.

The goalkeeper completed the match, but Radio Girona and SER Catalunya reported that the injury is worse than initially thought, and that he may be sidelined for two months or more, pending further examinations.

This scenario represents a severe blow for Ter Stegen, who joined Girona less than two weeks ago on loan from Barcelona, where he was no longer the first-choice goalkeeper.

The 33-year-old player wants the chance to play, which he also needs to maintain his position as the first-choice goalkeeper for the German national team at the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

This seems to be the latest setback for Ter Stegen, who was out of action from July to December after undergoing back surgery and has only played three matches since returning.

There has been no official confirmation of the injury from Girona or his parent club Barcelona, while Cadena SER reported that Barcelona is aware of the situation and will not rule out his early return if the injury is serious.
