Khaberni - The first group of wounded and sick coming out of Gaza began to arrive at the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing with the Palestinian sector on Monday, according to an Egyptian medical official.
The official said that the first batch of Palestinian injured and sick began arriving at the crossing inside Egyptian ambulances, accompanied by several escorts.
He added: "Three ambulances carrying a number of patients and injured arrived and were examined immediately upon arrival… to determine the hospital to which they will be transferred."
The head of the National Committee for the Management of Gaza, Ali Shaath, announced on Monday the opening of the Rafah crossing and the start of its trial operation in both directions, considering this "an important milestone" in the efforts to organize the movement and alleviate humanitarian burdens on the people of the Gaza Strip.
