Details of a Second Grade Depression Affecting Jordan on Tuesday

Khaberni - Arab Weather meteorologists stated that by God's will, the Kingdom will be affected on Tuesday, 3-2-2026, by a second-grade (usual grade) weather depression accompanied by a cold air mass, consequently causing a noticeable drop in temperatures and renewal of rainfall, God willing, in several areas.

Timeline for the Depression

Tuesday morning until noon:

The Kingdom starts to be affected by the depression at dawn on Tuesday, with rainfall expected, God willing, in the north of the Kingdom, gradually extending to the central regions including Al-Balqa and the capital Amman.

It is not ruled out that the rainfall could be heavy at times and accompanied by lightning, thunder, and local hailstorms, especially in the northern regions, and thus, caution is needed against the dangers of flash floods and flowing wadis and ravines.

Low clouds touching the ground pass through, leading to the formation of fog over high mountainous elevations.

Tuesday afternoon and evening:

The effect of the depression increases and the weather becomes cold and cloudy with rainfall expected, God willing, in the north, central, southern, and eastern parts of the Kingdom. Rain may be heavy at times, as low clouds touching the ground pass through, leading to the formation of fog over high mountainous elevations. There is also a significant increase in the speed of the westerly winds, possibly accompanied by strong gusts exceeding 60 km/h, especially in the eastern plains and the desert areas, causing dust storms in those areas.

In the far eastern desert areas, especially near the Jordanian-Iraqi border, unstable weather conditions prevail, with thunderclouds forming and a chance for thunderstorm showers accompanied by hail and wind activity stirring up dust.

Tuesday evening and night/Wednesday:

Rainfall continues intermittently, God willing, in various parts of the Kingdom with fog forming over the mountains during the early evening and night hours. By the late night hours, the chances of rainfall generally weaken, while still allowing for localized rainfall in limited areas.

Major Recommendations:

- Avoid crossing or standing in watercourses or ravines.

- Drive cautiously on roads experiencing rainfall or reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.

- Be aware of the dangers of flash floods and flowing wadis and ravines, including in the Jordan Valley regions.
