The Director of the Meteorological Department, Raed Al-Khattab, said that the kingdom has been affected since Wednesday evening by a rainy weather condition that resulted in widespread and excellent rainfall, clearly benefiting the rainy season and water reserves, coinciding with the last days of the Holy month of Ramadan and the first days of Eid al-Fitr.

He added that the rainfall was characterized by being occasionally heavy and included most regions of the kingdom, accompanied by lightning and thunder and the fall of hail, noting that the rainfall over the past two days was notably concentrated in the south and center of the kingdom, which received the majority of it.

Al-Khattab clarified that the atmosphere is still unstable, with expected brief periods of rain stoppage, though the rain is apt to renew on Friday and Saturday, as well as during the day on Sunday. He pointed out that Saturday is expected to witness the most intense rainfall, particularly in the north and center of the kingdom, where the rain might be heavy in some areas and accompanied by lightning and thunder and the fall of hail, along with a slight additional drop in temperatures.

He indicated that the upcoming rainfall will focus more on the north and center of the kingdom compared to other areas, urging to follow the official updates via the meteorological department’s webpages and to subscribe to their "WhatsApp" channel, and to take weather warnings seriously, especially with expected heavy rainfall on Saturday.

He emphasized the need to avoid valleys and stream beds, stay away from them, be cautious of thunderstorms, and be aware of the danger of hail falling.
