Khaberni - The Israeli Government Activities Coordination Unit said that Rafah Crossing is expected to open in both directions for individual movement on Monday, as also confirmed by the chairman of the Palestinian Technocrat Committee, Ali Shaath.
The Coordination Unit clarified that "actual movement of residents in both directions will begin once preparations are completed." The unit did not mention the movement of aid.
Israel partially reopened Rafah Crossing on Sunday, restricting passage to individuals and under strict surveillance, while humanitarian organizations demand its opening without obstacles to allow aid delivery to the devastated and besieged sector.
This comes as violations of the ongoing ceasefire since October 10 in the sector continue, the latest being Israeli airstrikes on Saturday that resulted in the martyrdom of 32 people, including women and children, according to Gaza's civil defense.
A Palestinian Ministry of Health official in Gaza reported that about 200 patients are waiting for the permission to leave the sector as soon as the crossing opens.
Rafah Crossing with Egypt is the only land exit for the Gaza Strip not requiring passage through Israeli occupation, but it has been closed since the occupation forces took control of it in May 2024. It was briefly reopened in early 2025.
