Khaberni - The first official auction for special short numbers, organized by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, saw extensive participation and interest from more than 30 major entities operating in the Egyptian market.
The auction results led to the allocation of a number of special numbers, including the numbers 999 – 777 – 225 - 777000, at competitive values reflecting their marketing significance and their ability to enhance the accessibility to various services, through an organized and transparent electronic mechanism for conducting auctions via the official "Auctions" online platform of the Authority.
This comes within the framework of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority's commitment to applying the best regulatory practices in managing the numbering resource to ensure its optimal use and to meet market and institutional requirements.
It is worth noting that the National Telecom Regulatory Authority had launched the "Auctions" platform, as the first electronic platform of its kind in the Egyptian market aimed at providing special short contact numbers for customer service centers by conducting auctions.
The auctions allow small companies the opportunity to compete for a series of three and six digit special short numbers, which supports the development of call centers and customer service in these companies, thereby enhancing communication efficiency and supporting the corporate image of companies across various sectors.
