What is the secret to a life full of satisfaction

Khaberni - Physical health and psychological well-being are intertwined; one of the secrets to this well-being is feeling self-satisfaction, and one of the keys to this satisfaction is the person's feeling of their importance to others, according to researcher Jennifer Brenny Wallace.

In a report for "CNN" on Wallace's new book "Significance: The Secret to a Life Full of Deep Connection and Purpose," Wallace says that achieving this feeling of satisfaction requires getting out of the house and engaging in activities, such as connecting with friends and helping the needy.

Elements of feeling significant
Researchers have identified fundamental elements to the feeling of significance:

1. Appreciation: This is the feeling that you are valued for who you are, not just what you do.

2. Dependence: This is the feeling that there are people in this world who rely on you, trust you, and depend on you.

3. Alignment: This is the feeling that you deserve understanding and meaningful response.

4. Self-amplification: This is nothing but a refined expression of others caring about you, and having people in your life who care about their well-being.

The ability to be resilient
Wallace points to research conducted over a decade, indicating that our resilience is enhanced by the depth of our relationships and their support.

She draws attention to the fact that burnout occurs when we continuously exert great effort without renewing our sense of significance.

While this appreciation and sense of significance often come from friends, Wallace refers to research from the "Mayo Clinic" showing that just one hour per week spent with people who enhance our sense of significance can make us feel satisfied.
