Health implements a protocol for catheterization of cardiac clots in 7 hospitals on Sunday

Khaberni - The Ministry of Health begins on Sunday to implement procedures for treating acute cardiac clots through catheterization in ministry hospitals, through 7 main covered centers to activate this general protocol, according to the Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour.

Al-Badour explained that the ministry is working on increasing the number of these centers in a future plan and linking these centers with peripheral centers in various provinces.

These centers are; Al-Bashir, Prince Hamzah, Al-Hussein Salt New, Zarqa, Karak, Tafeila, and Princess Basma hospitals in Irbid, in addition to King Abdullah I University Hospital.

The minister stated that these hospitals, equipped for cardiac therapeutic interventions, have been enhanced with technical staff on call working at all times; to perform emergency cardiac catheterization operations around the clock throughout the week.

He mentioned that the rest of the Ministry of Health hospitals have been linked with these equipped hospitals according to a specific work mechanism, whereby cases of cardiac clots are transferred and catheterization is performed directly.

Al-Badour emphasized the commitment to the approved and recognized medical treatment protocols, based on clear principles and ensuring the continuity of optimal medical care, where cases of cardiac clots are handled in the covered hospitals by cardiac specialty doctors, whether from the ministry's staff or others, according to these approved protocols.

This protocol is part of a plan set by the Ministry of Health to enhance the quality of medical service, aiming to prepare clear concepts and establish uniform therapeutic protocols for brain and cardiac clots, in addition to unifying treatment protocols for all cancer patients in all medical sectors.

The importance of the cardiac clot protocol lies in keeping up with the latest globally recognized treatment methods; increasing life-saving opportunities; reducing the percentage of patients and complications, which positively reflects on the citizen's health and improving the quality and quality of life.
