Khaberni - A man's strange behavior after committing a shocking murder in Turkey astounded many, after the killer bought flowers to place on the grave of his victim who he planned to bury secretly.
A video clip from inside a store in Istanbul shows "Volkan" (47 years old) buying flowers and a pickaxe in preparation for burying his grandmother Fatima, after he killed her with her own cane she leaned on at the age of 93.
However, the killer changed his mind, leaving the grandmother's body in a remote area west of Istanbul, before the police found remains of her clothes and hair in the area.
The crime unfolded when the police raided the family home and found Volkan with injuries on his wrists and a farewell note before his attempted suicide, but he was taken to the hospital, where he confessed to his crime after his condition stabilized.
The grandson said he took his grandmother for a car ride on January 21st, but she hit him with her cane, which enraged him and led him to pull the cane from her and beat her with it, before he threw her in a remote area thinking she had died.
Volkan led the police to the place where he dumped the grandmother's body, before being arrested along with his parents, brother, and ex-wife as part of police investigations into the circumstances of the crime.
The crime provoked widespread reactions on social media, especially after the spread of a video clip of the killer buying flowers to place on his grandmother's grave.
The police believe that the killer is addicted to drugs and suspect that other family members may know about the crime or are complicit in it.
