Guterres warns of an imminent financial collapse threatening the work of the United Nations

Khaberni -  A message on Friday stated that the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres informed member states that the organization is facing the risk of an "imminent financial collapse", attributing this to unpaid fees and a budget rule that requires the global body to return unspent funds.

Guterres wrote in a letter to the ambassadors dated January 28: "The crisis is worsening, threatening the implementation of programs and exposing us to the risk of financial collapse. The situation will deteriorate further in the near future".
