Zuckerberg hints at the launch of smart shopping tools and a major artificial intelligence boom

Khaberni - Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, hinted at the imminent launch of a new wave of artificial intelligence models and tools, confirming that users will begin to see these technologies in the coming months, with a significant expansion expected in 2026.

During a call with investors, Zuckerberg explained that the company had rebuilt the technical foundations of its artificial intelligence program in 2025, after restructuring its artificial intelligence labs, adding: "In the coming months, we will begin to roll out our new models and products, and we expect to gradually push the boundaries of innovation in the new year."

Artificial Intelligence and Smart Commerce
Despite not revealing specific details or timelines, Zuckerberg emphasized that AI-powered commerce would be one of Meta's main focuses in the upcoming phase.

He mentioned that smart shopping tools and agents would help users find the most suitable products from companies and stores on Meta platforms.

This vision aligns with a broader trend in the technology sector, where companies like "Google" and "OpenAI" are developing smart assistants capable of executing purchases, supported by prominent partners like "Stripe" and "Uber".

Data Advantage
Meta believes that its superiority in this race stems from possessing a massive treasure trove of personal data.

Zuckerberg stated that artificial intelligence is now able to understand the personal context of users, including their interests, digital history, and relationships, giving smart agents a real value and more personalized experience.

He added that this depth in data would enable Meta to offer a personalized experience that competitors struggle to match.

Major Acquisitions and Investments
Meta had acquired Manus, a company specializing in developing smart agents, in December last year, confirming at the time that it would continue to operate its services and integrate its technologies into the company's products.

Zuckerberg's statements coincided with the announcement of the company's recent financial results, which revealed a significant increase in spending on infrastructure.

Meta expects its total capital expenditures in 2026 to range between $115 and $135 billion, compared to about $72 billion in 2025.

The company attributed this increase to escalated investments to support the efforts of the Meta Superintelligence Labs and its core operations, although this figure is still lower than previous estimates that predicted spending could reach $600 billion by 2028.

Investor Queries
Despite previous criticisms faced by Meta due to the ambiguity of the financial returns from massive artificial intelligence investments, Zuckerberg emphasized that the results of these efforts would soon reach users.

He concluded by saying: "This will be a pivotal year for delivering personalized superintelligence, accelerating our operations, building infrastructure for the future, and reshaping how our company operates in the coming years."
