Khaberni - Specialized dialogue sessions are being held at the Prime Minister’s office this coming Saturday to discuss the development of the Umrah City project, with over 150 experts participating from various fields including engineering, urban and environmental planning, transportation, as well as specialists and academics in the fields of architecture, energy, environment, water, economics, investment, and representatives from relevant unions.
These sessions are part of the government's efforts to involve Jordanian experts in the development of the designs for the Umrah City project and its related projects, particularly the first stage, which includes productive investment projects such as an international exhibition and conference center, a comprehensive sports city including an international football stadium and an Olympic city alongside it, and halls equipped with Olympic standards for various sports, work on which will begin this year and continue until 2029.
The sessions aim to listen to the participants' views and proposals, and benefit from their expertise to achieve the best models in developing sustainable cities, contributing to the creation of a nucleus for a modern green city that considers sustainability standards, quality of life, Jordanian identity, and opens promising economic and investment opportunities.
Five specialized sessions will be held covering topics such as urban development and growth, economic impact and future technologies, water and energy and environment, culture and education, and sports, health, and transportation.
Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan had launched the Umrah City project at the end of last November, where infrastructure work began on the project; to serve as a new model in urban development and long-term population growth management; and a core for a future model city for youth and the next generation, with precise organization and planning, extending its development stages over 25 years and across governments.
