Khaberni - The President of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, met on Thursday in his office at the Council House with the US Ambassador to Jordan, James Holtznaider, where ways to develop relations that serve the common interests of both countries were discussed, according to a statement from the House of Representatives.
Al-Qadi confirmed the depth of the partnership that binds Jordan and the United States, emphasizing the importance of building on it, especially in economic and developmental fields, and in a way that enhances Jordan's ability to face economic pressures arising from crises and conflicts in the region.
Al-Qadi stated that Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, always strives to achieve security and stability in the region and supports the language of dialog as a means to address various crises, noting the importance of Jordan's role in the region and the status it holds in the international community due to its balanced and moderate positions.
He also emphasized the importance and role of the Hashemite custodianship in preserving the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Al-Qadi valued the support provided by the United States to Jordan, affirming the importance of continuing this support in facing the burdens imposed by the disturbances in the region, primarily the refugee issue.
The President of the House of Representatives also emphasized the need to solidify the ceasefire in Gaza and move towards a serious political path leading to a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
For his part, the US Ambassador appreciated the deep strategic partnership with Jordan, confirming his country's commitment to supporting the Kingdom and enhancing cooperation in various fields.
The US Ambassador also expressed great appreciation for His Majesty the King's efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
