Khaberni - Egyptian actress Yasmine Abdelaziz announced she has taken decisive legal action against all pages and accounts that published fabricated images or content offensive to her personally and artistically, asserting that what has been circulated does not befit her name, her artistic history, or her audience, and "above all, does not befit me as an Egyptian woman and mother."
Yasmine Abdelaziz explained in an official statement released through her Instagram account that she had decided to break the long silence she had maintained, indicating that she no longer just ignores these transgressions, despite her full confidence in the awareness of her audience and their ability to discriminate. However, according to her, what happened exceeded all limits and necessitated a clear and decisive stance.
The Egyptian actress confirmed that she has indeed begun filing lawsuits and official reports against all those involved in publishing fabricated images or offensive content, emphasizing that legal accountability is not limited only to those who explicitly mention her name, but also extends to anyone who deliberately insults or defames through implication or indirect description, whenever the reference is sufficient to identify her to the public without confusion.
Yasmine Abdelaziz stressed that Egyptian law does not require explicit mention of the name for a crime to occur, as long as the intent to offend is proven and results in damage to her reputation or personal or professional standing, confirming that she will no longer allow, from now on, anyone or any entity to tarnish her reputation and any attempt to insult her will be exclusively dealt through legal proceedings.
The artist considered her decision not just personal to her, but as a message of support and encouragement to every woman who faces defamation, insult or fabrication, urging them not to hesitate to resort to the law, which, according to the Egyptian constitution, ensures protection of women’s dignity and respect.
She also expressed her complete trust in the Egyptian judiciary and the competent departments at the Ministry of Interior, and their ability to enforce the law and protect rights, noting that the chaos observed on some social media platforms demands a decisive stand, and that the legal measures taken are not the last.
