Khaberni - The Senegalese Football Federation announced, through an official statement, its presence before the disciplinary committee affiliated with the African Union, in an extended investigative session held hours ago, to consider the complaint submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding incidents following the final match of the African Nations Cup.
According to the official statement issued by the Senegalese Federation, the head of the disciplinary committee set a deadline of no more than 48 hours to inform both parties of the final decision, which has increased the anticipation within the African sports circles, waiting for what the deliberations will result in terms of decisions or possible sanctions that may have a direct impact on the continental football scene in the coming phase.
Representing the Senegalese side during the hearing were the Secretary-General of the Senegalese Federation and the legal advisor, Sidou Diani, where they worked on defending the position of the "Lions of Teranga" team, and providing the legal clarifications related to the accusations raised, in accordance with the regulations in force within the African Football Confederation. Coach Pape Thiaw attended with his players Eliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr to defend themselves.
The disciplinary committee reviewed the statements of all the parties concerned during the session, in addition to examining the official reports and legal briefs submitted, before announcing at the end of the session that the case was reserved for deliberation, in preparation for making the final decision on the issue.
The legal action was based on reports raised by the referees of the final match between Morocco and Senegal in the African Nations Championship, held on January 18, which included observations regarding incidents around the match and after the final whistle, prompting the Moroccan federation to submit an official complaint requesting a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.
