Khaberni - After the Israeli army announced the recovery of all bodies and prisoners, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed today, Monday, that the next phase is the disarmament of Hamas.
He also said in a statement, "It is in our interest to expedite the transition to the second phase in Gaza."
Earlier today, Netanyahu stated, "We have returned everyone as promised, until the last detainee," adding, "It is a tremendous achievement for the Israeli army, the State of Israel, and its citizens."
The Israeli army confirmed today, Monday, the identification of the last remaining body in Gaza belonging to the soldier Ran Gefily, announcing the recovery of all bodies and prisoners from the Palestinian sector.
In contrast, the Hamas movement declared that the exchange process is now completely closed, and confirmed its commitment to facilitate the work of the Gaza management committee and make it successful.
The second phase
The return of the remaining hostage is widely seen as the removal of the last obstacle before proceeding to open the Rafah Crossing, which will signal the beginning of the second phase of the ceasefire.
The United States exerted pressure on Israel to begin implementing the second phase of Trump's plan even amid the search for the body of Ran Gefily.
In addition to the disarmament of Hamas, the second phase includes starting the reconstruction of Gaza from Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip and deploying an international stability force in the areas from which the Israeli army gradually withdraws.
