Khaberni - The aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" arrived in the Middle East, on Sunday evening, amid anticipation of a US military attack on Iran.
The Israeli Channel 13 said: "The arrival of this major naval force brings the United States closer to making a decisive decision, following the US Army's promise to bolster its defenses against Israel."
It added: "This move is part of efforts to bolster defenses, as a ship carrying specialized missile defense systems approaches Israel. Alongside the naval response, the US Army is also preparing to strengthen its ground defenses, with the arrival of the THAAD air defense battery expected in the coming days."
According to the channel, senior officers in the Israeli army describe next week as a "crucial week" for the possibility of launching a US attack on Iran.
It said: "Although Israel is currently maintaining its routine operations fully, the Israeli army is working on the assumption that an attack on Iran might occur, after the United States completed the necessary preparations for the operation over the weekend."
Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command, met with the Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and senior officials in the intelligence and operations branches to discuss defensive and offensive coordination."
It added: "Israel hopes that the opening strike will target Iranian missile stockpiles in order to mitigate the severity of the Iranian response."
