Khaberni - U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio said on Thursday that "progress has been made" in the negotiations with Iran, indicating that the communications are being mediated through intermediary countries that relay messages between the two sides.
Rubio added, before heading to a meeting of the G7 foreign ministers in France, that the negotiations are "an ongoing and changing process," without going into details about the parties he had discussions with.
When asked whether he would seek help from the G7 countries to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Rubio replied: "It is in their interest to help," pointing out that "other countries obtain much more fuel from there than we do."
Regarding concerns about the reactions he might face amid the war, he said: "I am not worried about that," adding: "I am not here to please them... The people I care about making happy are the American people."
