Khaberni - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship stated that more than 70,000 users of the government Sanad application have activated their digital identity directly "self-activated" after the latest update to the app.
The Ministry added that more than 30,000 digital payment operations have been carried out easily and safely through the app, according to the kingdom.
In January 2026, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship revealed during a press conference the main updates made to the Sanad app.
At the beginning of its updated version launch, the app experienced simultaneous entry by large numbers of users at the same time, which exceeded the system's capacity at that time, leading to temporary technical pressure on the systems and temporary suspension.
By the end of 2025, the ministry announced that 80% of government services had been digitized, equivalent to 1920 services, while more than two million digital identities were activated through the Sanad government app.
The government launched the "Sanad" app in February 2020 as part of Package 5 of the government's economic program to support "electronic services and improve the business environment," and since then, several updates have been made to the app to overcome problems encountered at the start of its operation.
