Kushner Reveals Details of the Master Plan for New Gaza

Khaberni -   Jared Kushner, son-in-law and advisor to the US President Donald Trump, revealed details of the "Master Plan for Gaza," during his participation in the Peace Council launch event at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He pointed out that the plan aims to achieve full employment in the sector and prepare it to become a promising economic center, through developmental stages involving infrastructure, housing, and investment opportunities.

Kushner unveiled a "master plan" for the future of Gaza, along with displaying an accompanying map.

Kushner said in his speech that the plan was based on "some demolition operations followed by the construction of a new Gaza, which could be a source of hope and could become a destination in its own right." He explained that it would include "many industrial sectors, and could truly become a place where people there could thrive, with strong employment opportunities."

He said that the implementation of the plan would occur in stages, including workforce housing, and achieving a 100% employment rate, and "making opportunities available to everyone."

Kushner added: "We asked people what our alternative plan was."

He continued: "We did not have an alternative plan; we had one plan. We had signed an agreement, and we were all committed to making this agreement work.

"There was a master plan. It would be implemented in phases in the Middle East. They were building cities this way, home to two or three million people, and building them within three years. So, such things were very feasible if we decided to accomplish them."

During his talk, slides appeared behind him on the screen.

Calm Down for 30 Days

Kushner concluded his speech with a call, after saying he saw "many people trying to escalate."

He said: "Just calm down for 30 days."

He added: "I thought the war was over, so let's do our best to work together. Our goal here was to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinian people.

"Everyone wanted to live in peace, and everyone wanted to live with dignity. So let us direct our efforts towards supporting those who were working on building this future.

Key details of the plan:

Each area will only be reconstructed after ensuring that all weapons have been removed from that area. The goal is to ensure that rebuilding is tied to the complete disarmament of Hamas.

Areas and reconstruction activities:

1- Rafah Zone (southern Gaza)

Initial stage: The first area where reconstruction is launched.

Includes: debris removal, providing shelter, delivering humanitarian aid.

2- Central and northern areas

Built gradually after disarmament and security verification in each sector.

Includes: building residential areas for the workforce, industrial areas, ports, and an airport.

Disarmament

- Heavy weapons: Withdrawn immediately from each area before any construction.

- Small arms: Collected sector by sector by a new Palestinian police force.

- Fate of Hamas fighters:

Some receive amnesty or reintegration or safe passage.

Others may be integrated into the new police force after a thorough security screening by Israel and the United States.

After the completion of disarmament, Israeli forces withdraw to a security perimeter surrounding Gaza.

Humanitarian relief and preparation:

First 100 days: Focus on humanitarian aid, providing shelter, and debris removal.

Demolition work had already started to make way for new construction.

Infrastructure and economic reforms:

Establishing residential areas for the workforce.

Establishing industrial areas.

Building a port and an airport.

Implementing free-market principles similar to American policies.

Achieving full employment within several years if the plan succeeds.

Investment and international support

An international investment conference in Washington in the coming weeks to finance projects with private sector participation.

Following Kushner, US President Donald Trump took to the podium, praising the plan and emphasizing the geographical importance of Gaza, saying: "Gaza is a beautiful piece of land by the sea, and it could become a great place if it is invested in properly. Those living in difficult circumstances now could enjoy a much better life, and everything starts with the location."

This announcement comes at a time when tensions continue in the Gaza Strip, despite the announcement of a ceasefire, amid international questions about the chances of success of the plan given the existing political and security complexities.
