Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment began distributing about 500 plastic containers to several municipalities in the northern governorates, as part of the early stages of implementing the executive program to reduce random waste dumping, under the supervision of the Environmental Protection Directorate in Irbid Governorate.
This measure aims to strengthen the infrastructure for waste management and reduce negative practices associated with random disposal, by providing specialized containers and distributing them to municipalities according to their needs.
The Governor of Irbid, Radwan Al-Atoum, said that the distribution process included municipalities in the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, and Ajloun, with the aim of improving the level of public cleanliness and supporting the efforts of municipalities in organizing waste collection and reducing environmental violations.
Al-Atoum emphasized the importance of cooperation between official institutions and civil society in implementing the program, organizing awareness campaigns, and environmental initiatives that contribute to modifying environmental behavior and enhancing the culture of preserving public cleanliness.
He pointed out that Irbid Governorate continues to implement the framework law for waste management, which ensures environmental protection and improves the level of services provided in the field of cleanliness and waste management.
