Khaberni - The Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq said on Thursday that it will begin legal proceedings against the ISIS detainees transferred from Syria, following a day after the US Army announced that its forces had transferred 150 detainees suspected to be members of the organization from Syria to Iraq.
The US Army stated that its operation could eventually involve the transfer of 7,000 detainees from Syria.
The US Central Command said on Wednesday that its forces had begun the process of transferring ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq.
The Central Command clarified that the United States had managed to transfer 150 ISIS detainees who were held in a detention center in Hasakah to a "secure" location in Iraq.
