Khaberni - The Civil Status and Passports Department announced on Thursday the conditions and specifications for personal photos required for the issuance and renewal of the electronic passport, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to the international standards adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The department clarified that the photo must be colored and recent, not older than six months, with a pure white background free from shadows or any visible elements, and its size should be (35×45) mm.
It was noted that the photo should be taken from a frontal angle showing the full features of the face along with the shoulders, with a neutral facial expression without an exaggerated smile or frown, and in high quality with clear details and free of any effects or digital modifications.
The department emphasized the prohibition of wearing sunglasses or accessories that obscure facial features, and the necessity of having balanced lighting without reflections on the face or eyes.
The Civil Status confirmed that adhering to these conditions contributes to facilitating the procedures for issuing the electronic passport and ensuring its conformity with international standards.
