Dismissal of Assistant Attorney General in Michigan After Posts Against Israelis

Khaberni  - Assistant Attorney General in Michigan, lawyer Zeina Ozer, was dismissed from her position after an official investigation into her social media posts against Israel.

Ozer expressed strong anti-Israel stances, describing Israel as a "criminal Zionist entity." She also wrote, "Damn Israel."

According to American media reports, the decision to dismiss came after circulating posts in which Ozer wrote explicit phrases opposing Israel and the United States, in addition to her participation in an event supporting Palestine, where she said, "We understood that the law does not protect us, and it is sad that it took a genocide for Palestine to become a priority."

Sources indicated that the Michigan Attorney General's Office considered these statements to be in violation of public service standards, and decided to terminate her employment after completing the internal investigation.

This incident occurs in the context of the genocidal war that Israel has been waging on the Gaza Strip for months, which resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and injuries, mostly children and women, alongside extensive destruction of infrastructure, hospitals, camps, and mass displacement of residents, amid a choking siege and prevention of sufficient humanitarian aid.

This war has sparked an unprecedented global outrage, manifested in protests and mass demonstrations in the United States, Europe, and global capitals, as well as legal and popular campaigns demanding accountability for Israel's war crimes, and condemning the continuous American political and military support for it. Voices within Western academic, legal, and media institutions have also escalated, describing the events in Gaza as genocide, and holding the United States and its allies directly responsible for the continuation of the aggression.
