Khaberni - The number of Jordanian citizens registered civilly and residing within and outside the kingdom last year was 8 million, 907 thousand and 356 individuals holding the national number, according to statistics from the Civil Status and Passports Department, while data indicates that 48% of the citizens are under 24 years old, according to the Director-General of the Civil Status Department, Gaith Ghazi Al-Tayeb.
The number of newborns aged one year and less was 145,934, accounting for 1.6% of the total citizen population, and the number of citizens over the age of 95 was about 6,043, distributed as 2,106 males versus 3,937 females.
