Khaberni - Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khreisat, on Tuesday, said that vegetables and fruits are generally available and very reasonably priced.
Khreisat explained to the "Al Mamlaka" channel that there is a shortage of some vegetables due to climatic conditions, including tomatoes and cucumbers, indicating that the ministry has suspended exports of these types until the product abundance is expected to resume.
He noted that keeping a safe and sufficient stock of goods is part of the ministry's strategy, especially for sheep meat, poultry, vegetables, fruits, staples, dairy products, and milk.
He clarified that the existing stock in Jordan is sufficient for several months, and that the ministry is taking measures in production inputs, whether in agricultural or animal production or poultry, in terms of feed availability to sustain operations.
He pointed out the prior preparation for the current conditions, and that the ministry diversified import sources to ensure product availability to the citizens.
