Khaberni - Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan inaugurates the Crown Plaza Petra hotel, which has been closed since 2012, after accelerating its renovation and development during the past three months.
The Prime Minister had inspected the hotel, owned by the Social Security Investment Fund, last October, and directed the acceleration of its updating work, aiming to commence operations at the beginning of this year.
The hotel serves as an additional tourist facility for the city of Petra, comprising 143 rooms including 62 hotel rooms and 81 chalets, providing about 200 job opportunities with priority for employment given to the sons and daughters of the local community.
During his field tour in the Petra district, Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan directed the activation of quality programs and activities in the cultural village to enhance them, enriching the tourist experience in the archaeological city of Petra, highlighting its rich cultural and civilizational heritage, and maximizing the local community's benefit from it.
