Khaberni - Jordan's Japan Tobacco International (JTI) inaugurated its new offices in the Abdoun area of the capital, Amman, sponsored and attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Engineer Yarub Qudah, His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan, Mr. Hidaki Asari, and several officials and representatives from official and economic entities, along with the Regional President of JTI in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. This move reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its corporate presence in the Kingdom and continuing its investment expansion in the Jordanian market.

The opening of the new offices is part of a gradual and well-planned expansion strategy that the company has been implementing over the past five years, despite the economic challenges faced by the region and the world. The company relies on its confidence in Jordan's economic stability, clear legislative framework, and balanced investment environment, which has contributed to achieving sustainable growth in its business and enhancing its contribution to the national economy.

Over the past five years, JTI's operations in Jordan have seen significant expansion, with the value of new expansions and investments reaching nearly 100 million Jordanian Dinars, creating new job opportunities for Jordanians by 31%, with Jordanian talents comprising 97% of the company’s total workforce in the Kingdom, affirming its commitment to supporting local employment and national capacity building.

During the opening ceremony, Minister Qudah stressed that the opening of JTI's new offices and its expansion in Jordan reflects the company’s confidence in the Jordanian investment environment, and embodies Jordan's attractiveness as a regional hub for business and expansion, as well as its ability to attract long-term foreign investments, which directly impacts job creation and economic growth.

His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan stated that the opening of JTI’s new offices in Amman represents a positive symbol of the strong and growing economic partnership between Japan and Jordan, expressing his pride in participating in this event alongside representatives from official and economic entities, JTI, and distinguished guests.

Meanwhile, JTI’s General Manager, Mr. William Madden, emphasized that the company views Jordan as a strategic investment partner, not just a market. He considers the Kingdom an important regional center for business and export, benefiting from its geographical location, efficiency of its human resources, and regional and international trade network.

He also noted that JTI is ranked as one of the best employers globally, due to its corporate culture that prioritizes human resources, explaining that the newly opened offices were designed to provide a modern and motivating work environment, collaborative spaces that enhance innovation, alongside comprehensive facilities concerned with job welfare, positively reflecting on productivity and job stability.

The General Manager highlighted that the company is proud to have exported many young Jordanian talents to its offices around the world, where they now hold leadership positions on both regional and global levels within the company. He affirmed JTI’s pride in being a Japanese company, committed to quality values, sustainability, long-term planning, building partnerships based on trust, enhancing Jordanian-Japanese economic relations, in addition to its investments in community responsibility initiatives valued at 2.5 million US dollars in Jordan.
