Khaberni - The Minister of Social Development, Wafa Bani Mustafa, confirmed that the ministry started on the eighth of January executing the "Safe Winter" campaign to replace citizens' unsafe heaters with safe gas heaters that comply with standards and specifications, in order to protect the citizens from accidents associated with the use of unsafe heating methods.
Bani Mustafa stated in remarks for the "Direct Broadcast" program presented by media personalities Saddam Rateb Al-Majali and Maha Tubaishat on Jordanian Radio, that the initiative is part of the ministry’s annual preparations for the winter season, in partnership with charitable associations, noting that 1,285 heaters have been replaced so far, with 2,500 registered families set to begin receiving heaters from next Sunday.
The minister clarified that the registration is open to all families in Jordan, not limited to beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund, indicating that any individual owning an unsafe heater can immediately go to exchange it without any prior conditions.
She emphasized that "security, health, and safety is a right for everyone," affirming that the campaign includes everyone who applies for replacement.
It is noted that the Cabinet had decided, within the campaign, to replace 15,000 unsafe heaters with safe ones and to allocate the necessary funds for this, in cooperation with the Social Development centers in the governorates and Tkiyet Um Ali.
