Khaberni - The spokesman for the Public Security Directorate stated that the workers in the Anti-Narcotics Department, through their daily efforts to monitor all of the drug trafficking and smuggling cases, have dealt in the past few days with a number of quality cases including two cases involving individuals linked to regional gangs for drug smuggling and trafficking, in addition to seven other cases in the capital involving drug dealers and promoters.
The spokesman further detailed the two cases linked to regional gangs, where the first took place under the jurisdiction of the Ruwaished brigade. A special investigative team monitored and followed a suspect involved with regional gangs for smuggling and drug trafficking. After confirming all information and the suspect’s possession of large amounts of drugs and their hiding place, a raid was conducted, resulting in his arrest where 120,000 narcotic pills, two firearms, and specialized devices for locating and communicating with regional gangs were seized.
In the second case in the Madaba Governorate, the workers in the department followed information about two individuals and their links to regional gangs for drug smuggling and their resultant possession of large quantities of drugs. After verifying all the information, the two were apprehended following a raid and found in possession of 50 kilograms of hashish and half a kilogram of cocaine.
The spokesman also mentioned that, as part of the efforts to pursue all forms of dealing with drug trafficking and promotion cases, six quality cases were handled in the capital along with another case in Aqaba during the past period.
In the capital, in the first case, a drug dealer was raided and arrested with 20 kilograms of hashish and 1 kilogram of crystal meth and an amount of cocaine seized. Another drug dealer was also arrested in the second case, found with 16 kilograms of hashish and quantities of marijuana and crystal meth.
In the third case, a dealer was arrested after a raid with 12 kilograms of hashish found in his possession, while in the last three cases, four drug promoters were arrested with a total of 17 kilograms of hashish seized. In the final case in the Aqaba Governorate, 10 kilograms of hashish were seized from a drug dealer after a raid.
