Khaberni - Turkish police were surprised by a seven-year-old girl who was with her mother on a mission to steal jewelry from a home where they were caught red-handed.
A surveillance camera video showed the young mother, 25 years old, with her daughter after they exited a house in Istanbul, after the mother had committed the theft in her daughter's presence.
Local media reported that the value of the stolen items in that operation was about two million Turkish Lira (approximately $50,000) which is the estimated value of the stolen jewelry.
The police returned the jewelry to the homeowners after arresting the mother and daughter in a trap set by security men to end a series of thefts committed by the mother before her arrest.
Beside three documented thefts by the police, the mother has a criminal record that includes 76 criminal complaints for various crimes.
The police only investigated the mother and referred her to trial, while the daughter was released and returned to her home accompanied by the mother's lawyer.
The incident sparked widespread reactions on social media due to the mother's behavior towards her daughter and taking her along during the commission of a crime.
