Jordanian Security Clarifies the Reasons for the Crises at the King Hussein Bridge

A Jordanian security source has clarified the reasons for the crises on the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge.
It was explained that the main reasons include limited working hours, restricting the number of travelers from the other side, in addition to sudden closures for various reasons by the Israeli side, leading to the shift being postponed to the next day.

The source emphasized that the closures are not from the Jordanian side, and that staff from various relevant agencies are present around the clock.
It was noted that the bridge handled approximately two million travelers, both arriving and departing, during the year 2025.

It was explained that Jordan is working in all ways to alleviate the difficulties for travelers, and is striving to reopen the bridge around the clock.
It was pointed out that work is ongoing on implementing comprehensive rehabilitation works and continuous infrastructure projects, alongside plans for future development of the bridge.

The source mentioned that the Public Security Directorate sent preemptive media messages before any crises expected during this week, due to the return of a large number of pilgrims and the accompanying increase in traveler movement, to notify them and enable them to arrange their travel schedules in advance.

The source continued: We confirm that we work throughout the year, and during holiday seasons, festivals, Hajj season, and others, on preparing and implementing joint plans aimed at easing the difficulties for travelers, reducing congestion, and facilitating the exceptional procedures imposed by the other side continuously.

The source referred to the follow-up of any remarks received, and the efforts to verify them and take actions that contribute to alleviating the difficulties for travelers.
