Khaberni - A security source confirmed on Tuesday the issuance of a circular to arrest a person who insulted the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, through a video that was broadcast on social media.
The source said that the Cybercrime Unit in the Public Security Directorate has detected the insult, and accordingly, took action to arrest him to proceed with legal measures.
The Jordanian Artists Syndicate emphasized the importance of not loosely attributing the title "artist" without verifying the legal and professional status of individuals.
The syndicate commented on the content circulated on social media platforms, which includes clips and statements made by a person posing as an "artist," as stated, stressing that what was contained in them includes religious insults and distortions that are wholly and detail rejected and have no connection with the community and cultural values upon which Jordanian art is based.
The syndicate also confirmed that the person referred to has no relationship with it and is not included in its official records, and there has been no prior engagement or recognition of him in any professional or union context.
