Morocco escalates the final crisis legally and requests a replay of the extra time

Khaberni -  Media reports confirmed that a state of anger prevails in the corridors of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, following the ongoing controversy that followed the final of the African Nations Cup.

The account The Touchline  on X stated that informed sources revealed a sharp division among its members regarding how to deal with what they consider events that directly affected the course of the final match against the Senegal team.
It explained: "According to what has been circulated within the federation, some members are demanding a replay of the extra time of the final match, based on a previous official statement, which indicated that the Senegalese team's threat to withdraw from the pitch created unnatural conditions that affected the players' focus and the course of the encounter, considering that this formed an un-sporting pressure reflected on competitive fairness."

On the other hand, another current within the federation believes that the fairest solution is to resume play from the moment of the controversial penalty kick, giving Moroccan star Brahim Diaz a chance to retake the kick, considering it a pivotal point that changed the course of the final and directly affected the final result of the match and the Moroccan team players' disengagement from the atmosphere of the encounter.

Despite the diversity of opinions and suggestions, the final decision has not yet been settled, in the absence of clear consensus within the Moroccan federation, amid a situation of escalating tension and discontent, especially with the general feeling that the Moroccan team did not get its full chance in a match of the magnitude of the African Nations Cup final.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation is currently seeking to open official communication channels with the African Football Confederation and the International Football Federation to discuss potential legal means and understand the feasibility of taking any exceptional measures, despite the complexity of such files and the difficulty of altering the results of matches after their conclusion.

The report indicated that the issue is poised for further escalation in the coming days, in light of some members within the federation sticking to their position, against other attempts to contain the crisis, awaiting the outcome of consultations with continental and international bodies, in one of the most controversial issues in the history of the African Nations Cup finals.
