A 300 Million Ruby

Khaberni - A group of gemstone owners in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo revealed a rare purple star ruby, amid estimates indicating it is globally the largest of its kind.

The owning team, preferring anonymity, announced their readiness to sell this unique gem, which is valued at no less than $300 million.

Expert gemologist, Ashan Amarasigham, explained that the gem named «Pure Earth Star» is considered the largest natural documented purple star ruby in the world. This stone was discovered in 2023, extracted from a mine near the remote city of «Ratnapura», globally known as the «City of Gems».

The owners only realized its special nature after about two years of examination and study.
The ruby underwent precise polishing processes, and it has received official authentication certificates from two specialized laboratories to prove its quality and authenticity.
