The Educational Values in Our Schools A Renewing Responsibility

Khaberni - Dr. Mohammed Emad Al-Omari writes:
In an era where variables are accelerating, educational values remain the fundamental pillar upon which the school community is built. The school is not merely a venue for transferring knowledge but an environment where a student's personality is built, and their attitudes towards themselves, their country, and their society are shaped.
Our schools in Jordan contain many bright examples of discipline, cooperation, and respect, but maintaining these values requires ongoing effort that keeps pace with the modern challenges that students face, especially with the impact of technology and changing patterns of communication between generations.
Today's students receive multiple messages from the school, home, media, and social networks. Herein lies the importance of the school being a safe space that promotes dialogue, instills responsibility, and encourages teamwork, making students feel that values are not mere slogans but a daily practice.
In this context, the teacher plays a pivotal role; they are the first role model inside the classroom. With their style, fairness, and concern for their students, they create an educational environment based on mutual respect. When education is coupled with ethics, its impact becomes deeper and more sustainable.
Additionally, the school administration contributes to instilling values through clear policies that focus on encouragement before punishment, dialogue before decisions, and involving students in activities that enhance belonging and initiative.
The system is incomplete without the family, as it is the real partner of the school in education. When the message of the home complements the message of the school, the student grows within a balanced value system that helps them succeed academically and humanely.
In conclusion, educational values are not a temporary project but a continuous journey that is renewed with each generation. The more we preserve them and develop methods to instill them, the more we ensure that our schools create both knowledge and human values together, contributing to building a bright future for our Jordan.
