The Trend Crisis That Reached Prosecution The Full Story of the Conflict Between Basma Wahba and Maya Diab

Khaberni - The controversy over the divorce of artist Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz from his wife and the involvement of actress Dina El Sherbiny in the crisis continues. In a new development, the dispute between Lebanese singer Maya Diab and Egyptian media personality Basma Wahba has reached investigative authorities due to the former's defense of actress Dina El Sherbiny, which Basma Wahba rejected and considered an interference in an artistic matter concerning the internal affairs of the country.

Local media revealed that the investigative authorities have referred the complaint filed by Basma Wahba against Maya Diab to the Zayed prosecution to start an extensive investigation into the incident.

Basma Wahba's lawyer, Heidy El Fadaly, stated that the investigative authorities have set next Tuesday as the date to hear her client's statements regarding the details of the complaint, noting that the complaint was based on statements made by Maya Diab in the context of the divorce crisis of artist Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz from his wife Ann El Rafai.

Ban on entering Egypt
Earlier, counselor Heidy El Fadaly had filed an official complaint demanding that Maya Diab be banned from entering Egypt, arguing that her statements represent unacceptable interference in a matter concerning the Egyptian artistic community, according to the complaint.

Social media platforms have seen wide interaction in the past few hours following Basma Wahba's response to Maya Diab's statements, after the latter defended Dina El Sherbiny in the ongoing controversy about the divorce crisis, reigniting the conflict between the two parties.

Beginning of the crisis
In November (November), Maya Diab condemned, in a video posted on "Instagram", what she described as "electronic cheapness" targeting artists through systematic defamation campaigns, considering that the attack on Dina El Sherbiny lacks professionalism and responsibility.

Basma Wahba responded with a sharp attack, considering that Maya Diab had crossed the line by telling the audience "shut up", confirming her rejection of "the arrogance towards the Egyptian people" or speaking to them with a tone of superiority, and emphasizing her respect for the Lebanese people while rejecting mutual offense between the nations.

In her message, she clarified that defending friends is a legitimate right, but harming Egypt or its symbols is a "red line". After a wave of widespread criticism for blowing the matter out of proportion, Wahba deleted the first clip and then published a toned-down message that reduced the severity of the conflict.

Concurrently with the ongoing controversy, Dina El Sherbiny has taken legal steps to protect her name, after appointing a renowned lawyer to file lawsuits against pages that accused her of slander and defamation, especially after her name was involved in news related to the separation of Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz from his wife, which the artist outright denied.
