Trumps Peace Council to Deal with Conflicts Around the World

Khaberni - Member states of the peace council recently established by US President Donald Trump will be able to have a seat for an indefinite period if they contribute a billion dollars to the budget within a year, according to the draft charter published by the Times of Israel.

The Israeli daily published the entire draft charter today, Sunday.

The 13 chapters also show that the US government wishes to significantly expand the council's mandate beyond its current focus on calming and rebuilding the Gaza Strip.

According to the draft, the council will deal with crises and conflicts around the world.

Therefore, critics are already speaking of potential competition with the United Nations, which Trump frequently criticizes as ineffective.

This criticism is also echoed in the introduction which states that "permanent peace requires practical governance, logical solutions, and the courage to move away from methods and institutions that often fail."

The document also emphasizes the need for "a more agile and effective international body for peacebuilding."

According to the current concept, the council will initially focus on the conflict in Gaza.

Trump has recently invited several heads of state and prime ministers to participate in what is called the peace council.
