Khaberni - "Cadena COPE" radio revealed on Sunday that Vinicius Junior, a Real Madrid player, decided to leave the team after facing jeers from the fans at "Santiago Bernabeu" during the Levante match, stating that he will not play for a team that does not respect him.
"Vinny" has been subjected to criticism and jeering recently, particularly last week after Real Madrid lost the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona and was eliminated from the last sixteen of the Copa del Rey by second division Albasiti.
Journalist Roberto Morales said on "El Partidazo de COPE" program on Cadena COPE radio that Vinicius made his decision on Sunday due to the jeering he received from the fans.
Cameras captured Vinicius crying before entering the Levante match after hearing the crowd jeer him when the stadium announcer mentioned his name, before his teammate Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and physical trainer Antonio Pintos intervened to calm him down.
Morales mentioned: Vinicius told his entourage that he understands fans jeering a player, but it cannot be done throughout the ninety minutes.
"El Periódico" newspaper of Spain confirmed what the radio stated, noting on Sunday: The Brazilian player informed his agent that he does not want to play in a place where he is not respected. This comes with 18 months left on his contract with the white club.
The Brazilian played his 350th match with Real Madrid against Levante on Saturday, which saw the white team win two-nil.
